Tyla Smith is an Art and Nature Therapist with a background in child psychology. She graduated from Edinboro University with a Masters in Counseling and Art Therapy, earned a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Kaplan University, and is an accomplished artist in multiple methods and mediums. She also holds certification in ShinRin Yoku Forest Therapy from the Wildcraft Forest School based in Western Canada.

She uses Art and Nature Therapy to help people in ways that work with their inner child, their creative selves, and help re-establish and reinforce their connection to all that Mother Earth provides. By using these modalities she enables her clients to address issues in their lives that might not respond to traditional talk therapy.
She works by meeting the client where they are instead of pressuring the client to address things they may not be ready to face yet.
She specializes in working with neurodivergent (Autism/ADHD) clients from the age of 12 up into their mid to late 30's. These clients in particular benefit from assistance navigating their changing world- from puberty into adulthood. By learning different skills and techniques they are able adjust more easily to the ways these changes affect their lives and their ability to function. By using gentle but firm guidance and introspection her clients gain more success in setting and achieving reasonable goals and overcoming roadblocks. This works to boost their self-esteem, improve their relationships, and give them autonomy in their own lives.
By offering in-person or virtual sessions she makes art and nature therapy accessible to more individuals and provides flexibility in booking either 1/2 hour or 1 hour sessions. She also gives the option of weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly sessions depending on how much support the client needs.
Tyla accepts private pay on a sliding scale based on yearly income. Message her below to ask about availability, rates, and how to move forward with scheduling an initial session for you or a family member.
